Our rigorous curriculum has information that will never expire due to its dynamic, didactic, engaging delivery of knowledge specifically written and formulated for both today's and tomorrow's educators. A prospective student for the Instructor's Program must hold a valid license in the field he/she is approved to teach for a minimum of 3 continuous years. COSMETOLOGY INSTRUCTOR TRAINING 1000 HOURS COURSE OBJECTIVE: The purpose of the Cosmetology Instructor program is to offer teaching methods, learning principles, and professional growth for striving career educators. The program is designed to work effectively in an instructor-led environment but can also be used in a mentor self-study environment. It takes the basic instructor to next level and deals with principles more relevant to a seasoned educator or individual who wants to pursue professional development. Cosmetology Instructor Course of Study Hours - Observation Academic and Skill (107) - Methods, Management, Materials (443) - Testing and Evaluation (87) - The Professional Teacher (208) - Cosmetology Law, Rules and Regulations (23) Student Motivation and Learning (132) There shall be a minimum total accumulation of 1000 (clock) hours. The State of Mississippi law requirements for academic and practical classes in cosmetology instructor are divided approximately as follows: 60% clinic work and 40% classroom (both academic and practical application). Methods of payment used by the school include cash, check, cashier’s check, money order, credit card, VA Assistance (for those who qualify), Vocational Rehabilitation (for those who qualify), or through non-federal agency or loan programs. Students are responsible for paying the total tuition and fees and for repaying applicable loans plus interest. This School Has Not Been Approved For Title IV Funding* GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS In order to graduate from the program of study and receive a Diploma, a student must successfully complete 1000 clock hours, required tests, practical assignments; pass all written and practical examinations with an 75% average; complete the program according to the Mississippi State Board of Cosmetology requirements; complete all exit paperwork; attend an exit interview and make satisfactory arrangements for payment of all debts owed to the school. Career opportunities include Cosmetology School Manager, Cosmetology School Instructor, Platform Educator, Lecturer, Styles Director, and School Ownership.
